Due to heavy request from my fans, I will post another story.
Well listen up boys and girls. This happened on Monday which was public holiday for the state of Selangor. As usual I have nothing better to do in my life than to roam around MidValley, so I headed there. I went into Shakeys for lunch. I know today was Monday thus Shakeys was giving out 30% discount on their pizza. While ordering I enquired at a very nice waitress about the 30% discount. She went back to her manager and asked about it and then she come back saying there will be no 30% discount!
Now, this is not right, MidValley in KL the last time I checked! I went up to the manager and asked. He mumbled something about "Our office is in Shah Alam". WTF! I don't care a shit were is ur office, ur pizza is not coming from Shah Alam. Of course I didn't say that all to him, I just nodded and went back. I was ready to file a complain on this branch and if necessary drag this @sshole to Consumer Court. Now its not about RM 9 that I am after, its taking consumers as fools. We are not idiots you see.
Still dissatisfied, as I was browsing at my free adVantage magazine, the last page had a coupon 30% discount for Shakeys. In that coupon it didn't mention anything about public holiday. Then I called the nice girl again and enquire about the coupon. She said she had to check with her manager again. I said, definitely ur boss isn't going to agree. So if this is the case, I am filling a complaint. She went up to her another boss, and the boss said OK. So I said how now? She said, I will give you the the discount. Now thats the right way! I smiled and enjoyed my 30% discount pizza. However bill was printed wrongly and I was given the correct bill from the girl later. I think she did a favour for me. I was quite sure that alot of ppl there didn't know about the 30% discount. I made sure I thanked her and left the Shakeys. Ppl...! Know your rights and stand by it. Too bad, consumer awareness in Malaysia is small.

Road bully live in action!
I had a chance to watch a real live road bully in action in close up! In this case I don't know how is the road bully, judge for yourself.
I was in my friend's kancil (Kancil) heading back to Kelana Jaya. This incident happen at night on the Sprint highway. There was this wira aeroback (Wira) from the left lane was trying to cut in to our lane (middle lane). My friend didn't give way, probably because he was speeding and the gab in front was small. The Wira, i guess took it quite personally and started tailing the Kancil.
The Wira's driver was practically few inches an the left side to the kancil, almost knocking the car. I could see their faces and they all buat dunno aje. They were dangerously near to the car. My another friend in the front passenger seat took the steering lock and shouted at the Wira. At this moment, the Wira's friends arrived in another car Proton Saga. So at this point, the Kancil was squeezed between the Wira and Saga. Saga waved some hand signal, my friend was shouting and screaming. Kancil was now at snail pace, not letting the Wira pass. Somehow Kancil managed to corner the Wira and Saga. (Imagine that!)
Both of my friends got out and started shouting at those drivers. Wira and Saga, kept quite in the car with the doors locked and windows up. Most of the time, I was quite scared as the event unfolded. Apparently, another 2 cars arrived friends of Wira, and was told to get lost by Kancil. More shouting and yelling. Luckily nothing serious happened. So there was my Sat night experience. Very scary and was worried things will get out of hand. So ppl, drive more cautiously.

Since I got back from Tioman, I can't stand sleeping in my house. The heat is unbearable. Hopefully it would end by end of this month as said in the papers.

Falling a sleep now.........argghhh I can't stand this lady's voice. I have this colleague who has this most irritating voice. I just don't understand why she has to scream while talking and her pitch can break my brain capillaries. Sux... tomorrow have to work. Going to buy a new racquet tomorrow... Hafiz.. here I come!

Trip to Tioman
OK... here is my trip journal........ My trip to Tioman Island, Pahang, Malaysia.
All the photos haven't been sent to develop yet.. will keep you guys informed on the pixs.
The night before Day 1:
My ATM card got stuck! Duhh! Is this a sign of bad luck?
Day 1 (The beginning):
Left home at 6.30 AM. Headed down to Sg. Besi highway. The journey was fast. Stopped at Ayer Keroh Restoran Jejantas, I didn't know they had this here. Thanks to a fellow in autoword.com.my, he provided me a detail map in getting to Mershing.
I turn off Ayer Itam exit. The roads were ok, but its a 2 lane winding road. After passing all the town, turned into a road heading to Mershing. Its like 100 KM! What! The road was horrible, which moron suggested me to drive? The whole 100 KM journey was bad. It was a only 2 lane road with only plantation on the sides of the road. If I were to die here, not one would notice it. I was already regretting in not taking the flight now. I speed all the way till finally I reached civilization. It was Mershing town.
The official parking place was full! I had to park at someone's house. RM 5 per day. Next, I had to pay a stupid tax RM 10. Next, getting a boat. I was there about 12.30PM, the next one is at 1.30 PM. Because of the low tide, the speedboat only managed to leave about 2.30-2.45 PM. The first hour was horrible, the boat had to move like negative 5 KM per hour because of the low tide. Passenger was asked to stand till the front of the boat to balance up the boat! After an hour standing, we managed to enter deep water. Then the speedboat was really speeding (we were jumping up and down against the wave, that was fun!)
Managed to reach Berjaya at 5.00 PM. Finally! Checked in, the ppl was very nice! Room was ok only, not as in the pic below! Took a bath, then had a rest. Night, we went and had an expensive yet not tasty dinner in the hotel. Later just hanged around and slept.. too exhausted from the journey.
Day 2 (The middle):
We met this family couple in the Jetty. They suggest we go to the marine park in the morning. So we did follow them to the marine park. Before that we saw those lazy monitor lizards at the park within the hotel. Boy, the marine water was quite clear. We saw alot of fishes. We bought some bread crumbs and just threw the bread to the sea area. Man, this fishes are all well fed. Alot colourful ones. All of them were fighting for the food. Since we didn't know how to swim, we didn't try to swim with the fishes. Went down the the beach and just hang around. Had lunch and headed back. In the evening we went around the beach and later hang around in the wading pool. Later at night, we went of for dinner, yuck food! Come back and eat again.
Day 3(Almost the end)
The most fun day! We went snorkeling! The first island, we were taught how to breath with the mask and swim around. The problem is we both don't know how to swim, the more we tried to swim the more we were not getting anywhere! It was funny. The poor boatman had to swim along with us in order for us to see the coral. Its was a nice experience.
The next stop was rather deep. A bit of hesitance to get down. Once we got comfortable with its was a nice view. Huge corals! Fishes was practically swimming beside us.
Third stop was lunch time, food was nice and cheap.4th stop was Marine park. This time close up with those fishes again. 5th stop was Renggis Island. We started to get a hang of it, swim across saw alot of corals and fishes. There was one incident I can't forget which was the was a fish that actually swim across me and turned around and look at me. I was startled and I started laughing. That was funny!
Then finally back to the hotel. I wished I could swim. You really need to know how to swim in order to enjoy snorkeling. Soon I hope. Next time I hope to go diving.
Back to the room. Now our body was aching from the swim. Its no joke. Its really painful this today. At night, we went to a restaurant recommended by the boatman. Man he was right, it was nice and clean place. We had a huge fish... boy I was full till the night!
Day 4 (The end)
We changed our return boat time from 12 to 9.30. We waited and waited and waited. But first boat refuse to take us and the second one didn't even stop. Finally got a boat on the 12.30 PM. There was this American couple waited the same time as us but didn't get on the boat. They didn't had tickets, someone pass them wrong information. I wonder how are they now? Reached jetty at 2 PM. The homeowner was waiting for me. Good! Got in my car and head back home. Reached home at 7 PM.
Overall this was a very exciting, non-stop activity vacation for me. The main purpose was to relax here, but ended up doing alot things. I am quite happy with this vacation compare to the rest. Head to tioman! But please take a flight!

I was in KL yesterday for the MSDN/TechNet thingy. Microsoft is introducing their Windows Server 2003. How was it? Half of the time I felt a sleep, until the last session, I cannot "tahan" oledi, I had to leave. It was good meeting up with old collegues and washing my eyes on KL chicks....... hot mamas! Now back at my boring seat with nothing to look at......sigh... how nice if I was working in Citibank.. hehehe! Tomorrow morning I am heading to Tioman. Hope everything will be ok, Lisa is not tool late to join me.. I don't usually ajak ppl, cause don't know lah... always think vacation like personal affair.......next time ah? Redang?

I watched The Amazing Race 3 repeat yesterday. They were in Swiss and was given a flag of a country. They were asked to head to that country. Out of 5 or 7 groups, one 2 knew what country it was... it was MALAYSIA!! Arghhh! I thought we made huge progress and no one knows us. Then again, give me Tanzania flag and I wouldn't know what the heck it is!
I gotta thank Dr. M for making this country progress. At least those American is able to see KLIA, KLIA Express, Petronas Towers, LRT, our road, Komuter and shopping complexs. Imagine we didn't have Dr. M. These guys will land at old Subang Airport, hop on our old yellow black Gemini taxis and air conless Sri Jaya buses, 2 road lanes and NO PROTON! Argghhh! Thanks Dr. M!
I gotta thank Dr. M for making this country progress. At least those American is able to see KLIA, KLIA Express, Petronas Towers, LRT, our road, Komuter and shopping complexs. Yippee! I got my booking confirmed..I am heading to Tioman. The sad part is that I forgot its my weeding anniversary this March 10. My wife thought that I was planning for it while the true fact was I just needed the break.. aiyaa...! Well as long we are going. Now I need a road map to get to Mersing, then get a speedboat to Tioman and enjoy the beach. On the left, is how my room will look like.. i think! Can't wait to go on jet ski, always wanted to go.... can't wait! |
